Andorra la Vella pays €59,868 to Suite Plaza to accommodate Barça Women

The Andorra la Vella Town Council has directly awarded Suite Plaza Hotel the contract to accommodate the FC Barcelona women’s team during its stay in the capital in August 2026.

The agreement was approved by the Town Council’s Executive Board on July 28, with the contract amounting to €59,868.36, including IGI, Andorra’s indirect general tax. 

The file was processed by the Town Council’s Tourism and Commercial Promotion Department and published in the BOPA, Andorra’s Official Gazette.

According to the published resolution, the contract covers the accommodation of the FC Barcelona women’s team during its stay in Andorra la Vella.

The contract was awarded directly. The operation is part of the Town Council’s stated aim of «strengthening tourism and commercial activity in the parish by hosting high-level sporting events and teams».

Five days of training in Andorra

Barça Women spent five days in Andorra for their pre-season training camp. The camp ended on Monday, August 10, 2026, after five days of work in the Principality.

During their stay, the team coached by Pere Romeu used Andorra’s sporting facilities to continue preparing for the new season and to integrate the squad’s new signings.

The final day of the camp also produced one of the most notable moments of the stay. The Barcelona delegation crossed paths with Gerard Piqué, the current owner of FC Andorra, at the Estadi Comunal Joan Samarra. The former Barcelona defender took the opportunity to greet Pere Romeu and several of the team’s players, including Aitana Bonmatí.

After completing their final training session, Barça Women returned to Barcelona to continue their preparation at the Joan Gamper Sports City.
