Claror rejects the «importation of cheap labour» from countries «not aligned» with Andorran culture
The patriotic party calls for fair wages, selective immigration and priority for workers from Andorra’s closest cultural environment
Claror has told La Veu Lliure that it rejects what it considers the «normalisation of the importation of cheap labour» from countries that, according to the party, are «not aligned» with Andorra’s culture, customs, religion and language.
The patriotic political party argues that the arrival of foreign workers should not be driven solely by economic considerations and calls for fair wages that allow people to cope with the cost of living in Andorra.
According to Claror, such a policy would make the Andorran labour market more attractive to people from the country’s closest surrounding environment and with a similar cultural background.
The party says it does not want to close the door to immigration regardless of where people come from, but insists that those arriving in the Principality should respect local customs, religion and what it describes as the «fundamental and basic rights of individuals».
Claror places particular emphasis on women’s rights, which it says must come «above all else», linking them to social advances for which, according to the party, «our ancestors fought hard».
Prioritising talent and the closest cultural environment
Claror is also calling for a change in Andorra’s migration and economic model. The party believes the Principality should become an attractive destination for skilled and qualified professionals, while prioritising workers from the country’s closest geographical environment and from cultures and identities it considers similar to Andorra’s.
The party argues that achieving this objective requires a clearly defined national model and long-term planning. In this regard, it criticises the country’s policies over recent decades and claims that both elements have been «absent for the past four decades».
